BioArt Source, an initiative by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), serves as a global platform providing high-quality scientific imagery for researchers, educators, and communicators. My role was to lead the branding effort from the ground up, ensuring the platform effectively resonated with its audience while maintaining a modern, professional, and intuitive identity.
THE CHALLENGE:

THE APPROACH:
Strategic Brand Positioning: Defined the core values—accessibility, innovation, and scientific excellence.
Visual Identity Development: Created a sleek, research-driven aesthetic that merged clarity with sophistication.
User-Centric Design: Enhanced the website’s UI/UX to improve navigation and encourage exploration.
Content & Messaging Refinement: Developed a compelling narrative around BioArt Source’s purpose, reinforcing its value to researchers worldwide.
THE IMPACT:
81,611 New Users joined the platform in just over two months.
643,910 Total Sessions with an impressive 93% engagement rate, demonstrating sustained user interest.

The platform reached users across 195 countries, with the U.S. leading engagement at 76,111 new users.
A significant traffic surge occurred on October 29, 2024, with 66,936 new users and 74,620 sessions in a single day.

Drove unprecedented international engagement with nearly 4000 new users per day on average.
Elevated brand visibility through a refined and cohesive identity built a global audience in mind.
Strengthened the platform’s credibility and accessibility within the research and education sectors.
MY CONCLUSION:
Building BioArt Source from the ground up was an opportunity to shape a globally recognized scientific resource. The platform’s rapid adoption and widespread reach demonstrate the power of strategic branding, user-focused design, and clear messaging in creating impact at scale.
